DIVING INTO TRASH, HAT FIRST

TOPIKU means “my hat” in Indonesian. We’re redefining how hats are made – without sacrificing the quality, comfort, and durability of the standard cap.

Our hats are ethically handmade by artisans in Cigondewah, Indonesia and utilize components of upcycled + recycled waste materials. We practice landfill diversion by purchasing scraps, offcuts, leftovers, and deadstock fabrics directly from local manufacturers.

Who said that hats just had to protect your head from the sun?

TRASH TO HAT

We work together with local trash-pickers or pemulung to salvage HDPE plastics from landfills, typically found in buckets.

Once collected, they are shredded, washed, and sun-dried.

We then pour the shards into a machine that melts and remolds the sturdy-but-flexible material into brims – fully bendable to fit your head.

The world’s first real bucket hat.
