This Truntum batik pattern was created by Kanjeng Ratu Kencana, Empress of Sunan Paku Buwana III, who upon discovering the King's infidelity, began “batik-ing” stars she saw in the dark sky so to forget her loneliness. This pattern symbolizes sincere, eternal, and unconditional love.
