Beyond the Score: How Topiku Raised Its B Corp Certification from 98.9 to 157
This year marks a major milestone for Topiku. We raised our B Corp score from 98.9 to 157, a significant jump that reflects years of intentional work behind the scenes. But for us, that number isn’t a trophy. It’s proof that our impact systems are real, measurable, and continuously improving.
For many people, seeing a score increase simply means “bigger number, better result.” But what actually changed? The growth came from strengthening our foundation across multiple impact areas particularly our giving policy, our Indonesian operations, our environmental systems, and our worker standards.
One of the biggest drivers of our score increase was our giving strategy, recognized under the Design to Give Impact Business Model within the B Lab framework. As a social enterprise, we believe our responsibility goes beyond our internal operations. Our impact is also defined by what we enable outside of our company.
That’s why we formally committed to donating 2% of our annual revenue each year through our Changemakers Program. Between 2022 and 2024, we went even further by donating an average of 9.5% of our annual revenue to nonprofit and impact-driven causes. This included 12.9% in 2022, 2.5% in 2023, and 13.4% in 2024. Our partners include organizations such as Sungai Watch, BOS Foundation, Project Child Indonesia, and Living Seas Foundation, among many others. Because responsibility isn’t only environmental, it’s also social.
Another key driver was the formalization and expansion of our Indonesian operations. In 2024, we moved our stockroom from California to Indonesia, allowing us to source materials locally and strengthen relationships with artisans and small businesses. Later that year, we relocated our stockroom from Jakarta to Bekasi to make it more accessible for our logistics team. By purchasing exclusively from local small businesses, we ensure that economic impact remains rooted in the communities we operate in.
We also improved our environmental accountability by measuring what we produce and how it impacts the planet. Impact is no longer just an intention, it’s supported by systems, policies, and proof. Traceability now backs our transparency.

On the workers side, we made meaningful progress by committing to 100% livable wages across the board and expanding employee benefits. These benefits include health insurance and financial support for our employees’ children’s education. We believe that a responsible business must first take care of the people who make it possible.
Raising our B Corp score to 157 represents stronger governance, clearer systems, and deeper accountability. Now in our 11th year of operation, we see this milestone not as a finish line, but as a checkpoint. There is still more to build, more to improve, and more impact to create.
Because real change doesn’t happen through one business alone, it moves when systems improve, communities are supported, and accountability becomes the standard.
